AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks usual forecasts, the game developer has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the official release, "A mysterious encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where hints of banned rituals and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The narrative introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a hidden group.
The adventure centers on "bizarre tests and a fearsome foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Extra Material
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an special katana together with multiple items secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

- Mikasa attire for Naoe

Latest Free Story Content
This update also introduces the game's third complimentary story content, titled "The Enigma." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has collaborated with well-known anime series. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally included a quest that unmistakably referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
